Meet Nellie, our Options Counselor in Naples, Florida
Options Counselor
At Legacy Adoption Services, Nellie is passionate about walking alongside birth parents during some of the most difficult decisions they may face. She draws on her background in child welfare to ensure that every voice is heard and every individual feels supported. Guided by her faith, Nellie believes that God has called her to this work, both to strengthen her own faith and to encourage others to discover the strength they have through Him.
Nellie is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University, where she earned her degree in psychology. After graduation, she spent five years as a residential case advocate in a shelter for women and children affected by domestic violence. She then joined the Department of Children and Families in Southwest Florida, serving as a child protective investigator before transitioning into the role of child welfare case manager.
In these positions, Nellie worked closely with children, parents and foster families, gaining invaluable experience across multiple agencies and developing a deeper understanding of the diverse needs within her community. These experiences prepared her for her current role as an options counselor with Legacy Adoption Services.
Outside of her professional life, Nellie and her husband, Bryant, are raising their daughter, Juliana, and embracing the joys and challenges of watching her grow and find her voice. When she’s not working, Nellie can often be found wandering through bookstores, picking up books she insists she’ll read soon, or spending time with her family and friends. Known as both an advocate and a compassionate listener, Nellie values being someone others can count on for encouragement and support.

Options Counselor
Tamara graduated from South University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. Her passion for adoption social work is deeply rooted in her own personal life experiences as both an adopted child and the mother of an adopted child. This personal connection gives Tamara a unique perspective and heartfelt dedication to her work, making adoption not just a career, but a calling.
Known for her warmth and ability to connect, Tamara has a special way of bonding with birth parents and finds immense joy in witnessing adoptive parents falling in love with their child for the first time. Her empathy, sincerity and commitment shine through in every adoption journey she supports.
Outside of work, Tamara is an avid sports enthusiast who once played college women’s basketball and softball. She loves traveling and spending quality time with her family of five, especially attending sporting events together and cheering on their favorite football teams.
Tamara is proud to be part of the Legacy Adoption Services team, where she works alongside others who share her passion for creating loving families and changing lives through adoption.
