Filled with compassion and empathy for people in need, Marcela Carrillo, known as “Marci,” is an experienced options counselor who has always had a heart for those who are struggling. Guided by her belief that every child deserves love and a stable life, she believes that even when pregnancy feels unexpected, no pregnancy is truly unexpected by God. As a mother who chose adoption, she is eager to provide parents considering adoption in Florida with the emotional support they need to be healthy, feel worthy and be loved.

Marcela Carrillo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice at the University of Texas at El Paso, then went on to the University of Phoenix – Santa Teresa Campus to secure a Master of Business Administration degree in human resources.

For 25 years, she worked as a juvenile probation officer, but her retirement from that job didn’t stop her passion for helping others. Her next role was writing home studies for kinship and foster-to-adopt situations.

Next, Marci began work in the educational field as a paraprofessional. During this time, she felt that God answered her prayers and opened the door to her future career in the adoption field, where she could help mothers, babies and adoptive families along their journeys. Today, she is passionate about her work as an options counselor, supporting people considering adoption in Florida.

Away from work, Marcela Carrillo enjoys road trips, sitting in the mountains, cross-training, and movie-watching.
