The way we met was a total God thing! Caleb is a realtor and when he had just gotten started in real estate he rented a table as a vendor at a local Township Park Day. A young lady (Marcys sister Jenny) came up to his table and started talking to him about Real estate. She was there helping to promote her husband’s State Farm insurance agency, and after she was done talking to Caleb, she gave him a rubber jar opener with her husband’s name on it. A few weeks later, Caleb got a few auto insurance quotes online, and decided to go with State Farm. The last question on the online application was, “who do you want your State Farm agent to be?” He only knew of one State Farm agent, the one whose name was on the rubber jar opener! A few days later, his new insurance agent gave him a call and told him he needed to come into the office to fill out some paperwork. While Caleb was there, he mentioned that his wife’s sister, Marcy had just gotten out of a relationship, and he asked Caleb if he’d ever be open to going on a date with her. Caleb said, “sure,” and a few weeks later Caleb and Marcy went on their first date together and immediately hit it off. A few years later, Caleb and Marcy were married and they are blessed to have just celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary.
One of our favorite Christmas traditions is heading to a local tree farm each year to choose the biggest tree we can possibly fit in our house! Hot cocoa and chocolate chip cookies make the tradition even sweeter. Summers usually include a week at the beach and a father-son camping trip for Caleb and Asher. We also love new adventures and have recently enjoyed Disney and a Caribbean cruise. We can’t wait to share these traditions and create new ones as our family grows!
We had the opportunity to build our dream home in 2023, and we’re so grateful to be surrounded by a neighborhood full of young families. With sidewalks throughout the neighborhood, there’s always someone out walking their dog, riding bikes, or playing nearby. Church, school, and Nanny & Pop-Pop are all just minutes away, keeping the people and places we love close by. Our backyard overlooks a peaceful cornfield and has plenty of room for soccer, football, and outdoor adventures. We love filling our home with family and friends for birthdays, holidays, and everyday fun, and we’ve always dreamed of having another little one to share it all with. We’ve created a home we love, and we can’t wait to welcome another child into it and watch them grow, play, and make memories here alongside Asher.
We promise to build our family on a firm foundation of faith in Jesus, our solid rock and guiding light. We promise to remind our children every day just how deeply they are loved, by Mommy, by Daddy, and most importantly, by Jesus. We promise to honor their birth mother and the important place she will always hold in their story, speaking about her with love, gratitude, and respect. We promise to honor the level of openness and communication you are comfortable with and to always treat you with the dignity, kindness, and respect you deserve. We promise to create a home filled with love, laughter, grace, and forgiveness—a place where our children are encouraged to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually and are free to become the unique people God created them to be. Above all, we promise that our children will always know they belong. They will be seen, heard, supported, and loved unconditionally through every season of their lives.
